Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel of light”. The chakras are subtle energy systems within our body that keep the body and mind alive and healthy. The seven major chakras are who and what we are, what we feel and how we think and change. They are how we express ourselves and how we create. The chakra system is the means by which we gain awareness, how we experience life, how we perceive reality and how we relate to self, others, and the world.
